A Little More About Artistik Vision...
Artistik Vision consists of
the husband and wife team
of Phillip and Kathy Ramirez.
Background
PHIL RAMIREZ
Phil has been working in the
performing arts as a professional musician since the age
of 16. While in college, he joined an acting group that
made it possible for him to get his AFTRA, and eventually
SAG, membership. Working simultaneously as a musician and
actor, Phil lent his talents to some of Southern
California's Equity-Waiver theater, both musical and
standard. A diverse musician, Phil has worked with some
of the Jazz world's best players and producers over the
past 20 years, including trumpeter Steve Huffsteter,
tenor sax player Pete Christlieb, and producer Jack
Lewis, George Carlin's former manager and producer of
some of the best jazz albums in the 1950's and 1960's.
Taking a break from the
entertainment industry, Phil began his career as a
graphic designer while working on a country music demo
for a local musical artist as writer, performer, musical
director and co-producer. After a four year sabbatical
from the performing arts field, Phil moved to
Jacksonville in 1998 and, with the encouragement of
Kathy, he returned to what he loved best... music and
acting. In addition to his graphic design work, he's
played trumpet in the Jacksonville area, teaches theater
and music to their own troupe of performers, and has been
seen on several commercials and industrial films in the
Central & North Florida area. He can still be seen in
reruns and now on DVD in an appearance he made on
"Seinfeld." Phil currently sits on the advisory board for
FCT-The Agency, North Florida and South Georgia's first
choice for talent.
KATHY RAMIREZ
Kathy has been teaching in Jacksonville since the age of 18, and is currently teaching with Mazza Smith Performing Arts Studio, Duval County Schools and area daycare centers. In 1992, Kathy began to work with her own group of students in an independent venture, which has grown into the Artistik Vision Performing Troupe. Musical theater training was added in 2002, and Kathy and Phil have gone on to produce such diverse and unique shows as "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" and "Seuss! Oh, The Thinks You Can Think!". Kathy has taken her love of dance and photography and put them together to offer a truly unique package: dance performance photography. Every year Kathy looks for the right photographer that can capture the true essence of dance and its form in a way that hasn't been done before. After many frustrating years, she finally took on the challenge herself, and has begun providing dance portrait and performance photography for the Jacksonville area. She's also worked with the local music group Sound FX in providing event photography.
